Martin Luther King Jr.

Yesterday I had the privilege in marching in the MLK Jr. parade through San Francisco.  The theme of the march was “Sustaining The Dream.”  I distributed a good number of leaflets and was generally met with kindness and openness to the idea of revolution against the rich.

The parade made its way to Yerba Buena Park where we heard speeches from Nancy Pelosi, Cecil Williams, Amos Brown and others.  They all raised up the virtue of non-violence in their rhetoric and made it clear that the only meaningful change comes when The People unite.

Rev. King was, of course, short on rhetoric and tall on action.  We can aspire to the same.
